Twitter football comedy star USASoccerGuy has kicked off his own Brazil 2014 campaign with the release of his spoof World Cup anthem 'Kick That Soccer Ball'.
The account, whose creator is anonymous, regularly tweets deliberately ill-informed football comments done in the style of an American sports fan, deliberately getting players' and teams' names wrong and using phrases such as '12 yard death strike' for penalties and 'headkick' for headers.
It has over 300,000 followers who are in on the joke, and regularly provokes outraged responses from people who are not - which are duly retweeted for the amusement of those who are.

The choice of American rapper Pitbull to sing the official World Cup anthem, We Are One, inspired USASoccerGuy to start the campaign #Pitbullisasoccerdouche and to record his own song, with the video made up of followers emulating the song title and kicking that soccer ball.
So far the response has been overwhelmingly positive, with comments from fans - clearly in on the joke - such as 'This could top the World Championship hit parade this Fall' and 'This makes me want to kick a soccer ball into soccer goals with all my soccer playing team mates'.
