Nearly a dozen World Cup revelers were arrested in Los Angeles on Monday as Mexican soccer fans celebrating the team's win shut down the city's roadways with two street parties.
Fans waved red and green flags, set off fireworks and shouted 'Viva Mexico' in the afternoon and evening celebrations that closed streets and blocked traffic before police stepped in, KTLA reports.
Soccer fans gathered after Mexico's 3-1 victory over Croatia advanced the team to the next round of World Cup action, according to tweets from the Los Angeles Police Department's Foothill Division.

Police detained seven people and shut down freeway ramps in the Pacoima section of LA's San Fernando Valley after the evening street celebration was deemed 'an unlawful assembly,' according to local reports.
Several LAPD tweets warned the public to avoid the area and ordered people 'not (to) celebrate with destructive/violent behavior.'
Crowds cleared the Pacoima area about an hour after cops in riot gear moved in, police said.
Earlier in the afternoon on the opposite side of town, fans marked the Mexican win with another rowdy street-blocking celebration.
