The World Cup is exactly one week away, as Brazil eyes their tournament opener against Croatia with increasing excitement. Before the games get underway, there's an entire wave of new advertising and promotional campaigns to digest. With so many happening simultaneously, it's easy for the highest quality ones to fall through the cracks, simply because they aren't backed by the largest sponsors. Relax though, because on this occasion we're highlighting one of the best.
Séan Garnier, one of the most celebrated street soccer players in the world, had a crew of artists make him look like he was an old man, and well, you can guess how it went. The poor guys playing against him never saw it coming:
The believability in these types of things is always questionable. How much do the other players know beforehand? Whatever, what's beyond dispute is that Garnier breaks out some mind-blowing moves, and everyone loves it.
Does this 'amazing player dressed up like an old guy' routine sound familiar? Of course it does! Kyrie Irving, Kevin Love (yes, KEVIN LOVE, Celtics fans), Nate Robinson, and Maya Moore invented this routine in a Pepsi commercial a few years ago. It was equally amazing. Here are all three of the iterations of that commercial series, which also includes a fantastic Bill Russell cameo ('This game has always been, and will always be, about buckets').
