Karen Lorraine Ayers, 59, of Roanoke left this life of pain and suffering on Saturday, December 13, 2014, and is now being held in the arms of her beloved Jesus. Left to cherish the memories of this beautiful soul, are her parents, Bobby and Phyllis Hedge Ayers; brother, David Ayers; sisters, Connie Ayers Lambert (Butch) and Cheryl Ayers; niece, Katie Johnson Broyles (Sterling); nephews, Dustin Johnson and Tanner Lambert; aunts, Shirley Mills and Brenda Hedge; uncle, William K. Craft; and many loving cousins and friends. Also a very special friend of many years, David Thompson of Salem and her Hopetree family,the Bledsoe Cottage staff and 'sisters', Linda, Stephanie, Susan, Rachel, and Marcia; and her Goodwill Workshop co-workers and staff.Karen has been a dearly loved member of Hollins Road Church of the Brethren and a participant in the Sunshine Class at Grandin Road Baptist Church. Her sweet spirit, loving personality and quick wit has touched the lives of all that knew her.Although flowers will be appreciated, the family suggests that donations be made in Karen's memory to Hopetree Family Services 860 Mount Vernon Lane Salem, Virginia 24153 or to Hollins Road Church of the Brethren 2404 Hollins Road Roanoke, Va. 24012.A celebration of Karen's life will be held 1 p.m. Monday, December 15, 2014, at Hollins Road Church of the Brethren by Pastor Horace Light. Interment will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
