Philadelphia's Lincoln Financial Field has been chosen to host the championship game of the Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF) Gold Cup, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports. The City of Brotherly Love beat out M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, the Georgia Dome in Atlanta and East Rutherford's MetLife Stadium.
MetLife had been widely considered the favorite choice when officials first began discussing venues.
The league consists of countries from three continents, including a few in South America, as well as island nations.
