MIDLAND - Some of the Greater Toronto Area's best young soccer players will run, pass and score in Midland this weekend.
The Huronia Soccer Club is hosting the Ontario Cup under-14 boys tournament from July 24-26 at Galloway Park.
Club president Rod Billenness said they are sponsoring this tournament to promote youth soccer in the area.
Participating teams are coming from across the GTA, including Erin Mills, Mississauga, Brampton, Vaughan and East York. There will be two pools of four teams each. After round-robin play, the top team from each pool will advance to the Ontario Cup quarter-final round on Aug. 8.
Games will take place Friday at 5 and 6:30 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday at 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
The charity group We Are the Villagers will be providing a barbecue and refreshments at the tournament.
